•Title:Sammy Keys And The Cruse of Mustache Mary
•Review:Sammy Keyes and the Curse of Mustache Mary is one of the Sammy Keyes series mystery books. Sammy is a thirteen year old who lives illegally with her grandmother while her mother is learning how to be an actress. In this book Sammy visits her friend who has moved to a small town called Sisquane. I found this book very depressing. The plot develops very, very slowly. I mean VERY slowly. I had to read to the fifth chapter to even get to anything that had to with the mystery of Mustache Mary. The first five chapters were not even background about the mystery nor were there any clues or hints about the mystery. Overall there were only three things I actually found interesting about the book. First a hundred years ago a brother shoots a brother so at least there was a little excitement and old west gun- play. The second was a mysterious cabin fire and there is nothing like pyrotechnics to get me jazzed up. Finally there was a gasoline can hidden beneath the grass and weeds. I found the gas can solution puzzling and but at least there was a sense of mystery about it. So if you are willing to read five chapters about boys, silly crushes, skateboards, sassy girls, and marijuana before you get to the actual mystery about the curse you might like this book. Otherwise I would recommend that you buy a good Hardy Boys mystery book.
